St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVDP) provides its members with opportunities to participate in multiple volunteer services directed to the poor, with a unique focus on one-to-one personal services through home visitation. Other special works include food pantries within their communities, information and referral to local services, and spiritual support. Volunteers serve meals and offer social support at two Meal Program sites and are active in philanthropic and leadership activities. SVDP is dedicated to personal outreach by volunteers within local communities to provide assistance with basic needs. The St Vincent de Paul Society of Milwaukee volunteer groups may be able to provide help with basic needs such as clothing, household items (bedding, linens, and kitchenware) and LIMITED help with appliances (stoves and refrigerators), and furniture (new beds, dressers, couches, kitchen or dining room tables and chairs). Assistance with financial needs such as rent and utilities is extremely limited. Volunteer groups may not be located in all areas of the city of Milwaukee and thus material provisions may not be available to all families or individuals in need of help.
