Description:
Looking for a lawyer, but don't know where to start? Let the Milwaukee Bar Association help you. Give them a call. Service is available on-line or phone only, no walk in service available.
After your situation has been reviewed, you will be be offered resources that best fit your needs. You may be referred to an LRIS (Lawyer Referral and Information Service) panel lawyer, governmental agency or a community resource depending on the nature of your legal problem. If you are referred to a lawyer, the first half-hour of your lawyer-client consultation will cost no more than $20. Private attorney fees will apply if you decide to hire.
LRIS does not charge callers for information or referrals. Calls are treated confidentially by LRIS personnel and panel.
They also have a Modest Means panel that offers private attorneys at a reduced rate for anyone currently receiving any form of public assistance. They are approved by the American Bar Association and all attorneys must meet their criteria to be eligible for referrals.
