The Women's Resource Center provides crisis intervention, advocacy, education and prevention services for a diverse population of victims or individuals at risk of domestic abuse and/or sexual assault, by promoting positive changes for individuals served and the broader community in Racine County.
Services
Women's Resource Center
We provide a place in the community where women can confidentially turn when facing a crisis
24 Hour Crisis Line
Anytime of the day or night, we are there to listen, offer support and provide specific information regarding other services in available in the community.
Counseling
Professional Counseling services are available to meet the needs of the women in crisis resulting from domestic abuse or sexual assault.
Support Groups
Weekly support groups enable women to share experiences, gain support and receive education about domestic abuse.
Advocacy
We will help with a number of systems including criminal, medical and social service. Legal advocacy is also available for assistance with Restraining orders and other legal issues.
Rural Outreach program
For families living in rural communities in the west end of Racine County, isolation and fewer resources can add additional barriers to becoming free from violent relationships. Advocates are available in the west end to offer similar services that specially address the needs of families living in rural settings. A full program is available, located within Love, Inc. by calling 262-763-6226 and asking for Sherry with the Women’s Resource Center.
Also a part of the rural program is a small permanent housing project (five homes) that offer life-long support to victims who have disabilities. More information about the Purple Ribbon Permanent Housing Project can be obtained by talking to Sherry at 262-763-6226.
Children's Program
Counseling, weekly support groups, recreation programs and tutoring are available for the children of the women we serve.
Hand To Hand
Provides a neutral exchange place for parents with restraining orders or other court ordered visitation restrictions. We are also available to provide supervision for parent-child visits in cases where the court has ordered such.
Information and Referral
The services of the Women's Resource Center are specific to abuse and assault, and we offer information and referral to other resources when needed.
Community Education
Staff is available to present programs to service groups, churches, schools or other social service agencies. Special programs are also available for schools on dating and teen violence.
Racine County Children's Advocacy Program
A colaboration of Women's Resource Center, Legal Action of Wesconsin, Inc, and All Saints Healthcare System, Inc. working together to meet the comprehensive needs of child crime victims and their families.
