This program can help low-income customers reduce their telephone bills. Lifeline makes telephone service more affordable for income-eligible households by reducing the basic monthly charge for one telephone line; either a wireline or a wireless line. Most wireline and wireless providers offer a Lifeline service. Ask your provider for information.
You are eligible if you participate in one of the following qualifying programs:
Medicaid
FoodShare
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Federal public housing assistance (Section 8)
Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit
Or, if your income is at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines.
Only one person per household may receive a Lifeline discount.
